Building on the success of the first “ReMIX · Yesterday’s Future, Invent Tomorrow!” (ReMIX), again with Create Hong Kong (CreateHK) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as the Lead Sponsor, the Industrial Designers Society of Hong Kong (IDSHK) had successfully matched this year’s six local premium brands with talented Hong Kong designers and announced the matching results for this years’ collaboration projects at the Second ReMIX Matching Program Kick Off Ceremony and Press Conference on 29 July 2022: CHOW TAI FOOK x Pong, FX Creations x BLIND by JW, German Pool x One Object, Giormani x 100°C, Profilia x O-Vision and Unitek x mingz creations.
We are pleased to have Ms. Jersey Yuen Choi Fong, Assistant Head of CreateHK as the Guest of Honour officiated the ceremony and deployed a speech. She thanked the IDSHK to organise the ReMIX again with a view to encouraging more collaborations between the local brands and designers and offering more development opportunities for the local designers and uplifting the standard of Hong Kong product design.
At the ceremony, we gathered local designers, brand representatives, industry players of the local business and design community and the media together to unveil the matching results for this year’s collaboration products and celebrate the kick off of the matching teams’ collaboration journey. Last year’s collaboration brand – Mr. Karl Leung, Managing Director of Tung Hing Glass and collaboration designer – Mr. Leo Yiu, the Founder and Designer of Pong Product also shared their “ReMIX” collaboration journey and crossover products designing story and experience with the guests.
A panel discussion was also held, in which the panellists of the Second ReMIX Program: Mr. Tommy Li, Creative Director of Tommy Li Design Workshop Ltd., Dr. Charles Chan, Founder and Director of Tunbow Group, Mr. Elmond Cheung, Vice President of city’super Store Brand, City Super Ltd. and Mr. Raymond Leung, Director of Wei Yit Vacuum Flask Manufactory Ltd. discussed how the creative industries and business sectors can strengthen their competitiveness by working closely together to create greater opportunities in Hong Kong, moreover, the tips of achieving greater success for designers.
