“Tai Pak” Chopstick Rest Set Series

“Splendour of Tai Pak” showcases a luxurious style with radiant red, regal gold, and elegant black, while “Majesty of Tai Pak” features an elegant jade colour. Each set contains six pieces, symbolising lucky strikes and enduring fortune. The designs incorporate five auspicious motifs—Dragon, Ruyi (a talisman of peace and fulfilment), Golden Tortoise for wine (inspired by Tang Dynasty lore, symbolising poetic indulgence and noble spontaneity), Auspicious Clouds, and Bats—representing nobility, fulfilment, prosperity, and heartfelt blessings. Each set thoughtfully includes a blessing card and a foldable inner panel, with the delightful surprise of “The Smiling Dragon”. Two additional dual chopstick-and-rest sets extend the collection: “Legacy of Tai Pak” features celadon green hues and motifs of Dragons and Auspicious Clouds, symbolising the continuity and good fortune; “Fortune of Tai Pak” dazzles in a red-brown dual colour design, representing joy and stability, with Ruyi and Golden Tortoise for wine motifs symbolizing harmony and prosperity.

Tai Pak Floating Restaurant is an iconic landmark in the Aberdeen Typhoon Shelter. It has witnessed the prosperous years of Hong Kong and attracted numerous local and international tourists and VIPs, making it a must-visit destination in the past. While the once-bustling atmosphere has temporarily quieted down, time seems to stand still at Tai Pak Floating Restaurant, patiently awaiting renovation and a revival of its charm.

Bringing a bold, creative edge to the collaboration is the exceptionally talented Alex King Pui Yuk (Alex), founder of Alex King Atelier & The Gray Factory. With a design philosophy rooted in modern aesthetics and constant exploration in every creative journey, Alex is a multiple award-winning designer known for his work in trendy product design, letterpress printing, sustainable packaging, and contemporary graffiti art.

We believe that this collaboration will be an extraordinary exploration of vibrant culture and literature. With dining ware that captures the unrestrained spirit of the legendary “Immortal Poet”, the project will fuse the elegance of tradition with the edge of contemporary design, creating a dining experience steeped in artistry, nostalgia, and flair.
